“Collision of cultures” is the mantra of the internationally infamous and award winning Chicago Brass
Band. “British-Tradition, Chicago Style” is how they would describe their 30 piece brass and percussion ensemble. Incorporating a unique twist to British band music certainly makes the Chicago Brass Band an original group in itself. They work to perform a wide array of music including jazz, classical, and music reflecting American culture. By combining American music with British traditions makes for an explosive cultural experience and a once in a lifetime musical experience! The coolest part about the whole thing is that Loyola’s Director of Orchestral Studies, Colin Holman, is the music director!
For anyone looking to come see this awe-inspiring ensemble, they will be performing with the Hall High School Concert Band at Hall High School, on Sunday, May 1st from 3:00PM – 5:00PM. Tickets will be $10 at the door or can be purchased during school hours at Hall High. Also proceeds will help fund the Hall Band and Choir programs. So come on out!
